Along with its lacquered bamboo mailing tube, address labels, and cork cap, Scroll is intended to carry correspondence back and forth between two people, repeatedly. Recording the conversation’s history to be read over and again, Scroll addresses our longing for deeper connection and greater intimacy over distance.

Scroll forms a suite of stationery products with Envelope and Pen, and was designed in 2011 and manufactured in 2012 for exhibition at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago’s 2012 BFA Exhibition. That summer, the first Scroll produced was mailed to France. And then mailed back. It arrived in beautiful shape.
